Construction
The hull is cold molded with four layers of mahogany with West System epoxy. The hull is fitted with laminated oak frames and floor timbers. There are two bronze ring frames that connect the chainplates mast step and mast partner. Included in this structure is the mast step keel plate and bronze floors that run under the step and over the keel plate.The deck is quarter sawn teak over marine plywood bedded in West epoxy. The deck and cabintop beams are spruce. All fastners are silicon bronze.

ENDYMION is a beautiful custom built Sparkman & Stephens sloop; built for the owner of Driscoll Yachts by Driscoll Yachts. She has been a one owner boat since new. Always shipyard maintained by the yard who built her. ENDYMION has had nothing but the best care and maintenance since new. This is a very rare opportunity to own a classic pedigree sailing sloop at just a fraction of her replacement cost.
Comments by the Owner
The interior woodwork is Spanish cedar stained to look like teak. The caps grab rails and wear areas are teak.The lumber for the boat came from Frost Hardwood. We have had a life long relationship with the Frost family. Gordon Frost called my Dad when the boat was still in the planning stage. He said that there was going to be a 50 year moratorium on harvesting old growth teak in Thailand. My father ordered all the teak for the boat in advance. The decking and flooring was all milled in advance. The larger pieces like the cockpit coamings were bookmarked in that they are cut from the same board so the grain matches. The cabin sides are done the same way.There are endless small details on the boat. The design and construction of the boat spanned a ten year period. The master carpenter Tom Henderson worked with us for over thirty years. Between Tom and my Dad they had over eighty years of boat building experience. Most of the hardware other than the sailing gear is custom made. Even the cleats were cast from patterns made by Tom Henderson.
